Days 2 and 3 in London

Day 2 is a bit of a blur. We arrived in London in the afternoon and got on a train from Heathrow to Paddington Station. We got off and walked, with suitcases, 15 minutes to our hotel. Not too bad. Checked in, washed our faces and teeth, changed and headed out to see the area.

We are staying close to Notting Hill and Kensington so off we went to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and the palace. It was a gorgeous afternoon to walk around outside. We wandered around the park, saw the palace (we did not pay to go inside), saw the Peter Pan staute and many others.

Then we wandered to Portobello Road. By then it was late (we did not leave the hotel until almost 4pm) and everything was closing up. But we did get a feel of the place,  saw many fun doors and other great architecture.

Dinner was at a local pub where Jim got the standard fish and chips and a pint. Those who know me- yes, I got a pint and no, I did not finish. Jim helped me so it was not embarrasing.

By then, it was 9 pm, still light out and I had been up for ... Oh heavens, I can't do the math! Let's just say, more than 24 hours and leave it at that!

Day 3 involved 2 rides on the tube, the "Original" sightseeing double decker bus, stops at the Tower, Westminster Abbey, Liberty of London and lots of walking! We wish we could have fit in more places, but we rode by a lot of them! A lovey dinner at Zizzi's and tomorrow it is off to Scotland!

Can you say whirlwind?
